On this date the Board of Supervisors adjourned this meeting in
memory of Melvin Fritz Nielsen. Mr. Nielsen was a very active
citizen involved in many organizations, one being a Contra Costa
County Supervisor for eight years, among others included, 50 years of
perfect attendance with the Lafayette Rotary Club. He was
Commander of the Lafayette American Legion Post 517, the first
commander who had served in WW2. He also served as Fire
Commissioner and Water Commissioner in the town of Lafayette.
Mr. Nielsen leaves behind his wife, Helen, 4 children, 10
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

On this date the Board of Supervisors adjourned this meeting in
memory of Stuart A. Safine. Mr. Safine was a member of the Contra
Costa Sheriff posse, the Concord Human Relations Commission, the
California Trial Lawyers Association, National Pony Express
Association and many other civic and community organizations.
Mr. Safine is survived by his wife, three children and 3 grandchildren.
