Contacted the county sheriff and the police depts.of Antioch,Concord; and Pleasant Hill to determine the nature of the 32 hate crimes reported in Contra Cost County during 2002. Participated in the Rape Crisis Center's sponsored Take Back the Night Rally and March to support victims of rape. During the months of September and November,Comimissionem planned and coordinated two forums of county,and cities HiRCs to promote programs of cultural understanding. Representatives from the HRCs of Concord,El Cerrito,Pittsburg and Richmond participated. The awsrdees were selected from a pool of nominees who go above and beyond their regularjobs and activities to assist county r id nts through mentoring,cultural se itivity tmmm&and social support activities. The Commission raised$4,900 in revenue with this event and after paying required expenses, established an account with the county and deposited$2,200 for the 2003-2004 HRC program year. During the month of August the Commissioners conducted a retreat to explore and improve the structme of the;HRC and its fii tions. The HRC adopted the following committee structure to manage the internal operations of the HRC: Steering Committee Finance Committee Membership Committer Media Committee Program Committee A.tteada�e�pen�t#xaE The Commission presently has nine active commissioners,six seats are vacant. Commissioners are equally represented by gender,ethnicity,cultural and religious backgrounds.
