RECOMMENDATION
DECLARE as surplus and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to dispose of vehicles no
longer needed for public use, as specifically set forth in the attachment to this Board Order.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact associated with approval of the recommended action.
BACKGROUND
Section 1108-2.212 of the County Ordinance Code authorizes the Purchasing Agent to dispose of
any personal property belongings to Contra Costa County and found by the Board of Supervisors not
to be further required for public use. The property recommended for disposal is either obsolete,
worn out, beyond economical repair, or damaged beyond repair.

These vehicles belonged to Community Services and were used in the"van pool"program..The"county run"van pool
program has been terminated and the vehicles are to be sold at auction so the money could be used to subsidize the new
vanpool program administered by Enterprise Rental. The Board is fully aware of this and has blessed the new program.
