HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02102004 - C59 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order of February 10,2404,by the following vote: AYES: SUPERVISORS GIOIA, UILKEMA, GREENBERG, DESAULNIER AND GLOVER NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE SUBJECT: Readopt Plans and Specifications and Authorize the Rebidding to Construct a Labor Delivery Recovery Room at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, 2500 Alhambra Avenue, Martinez for the Health Services Department Budget Line Item No. 6971-4631 Authorization No. 0927-WH63113 WHEREAS pians and specifications for the above-described project have previously been filed with the Board by the Director of General Services; and WHEREAS the above-described project and the plans and specifications therefore were previously approved, and bids were duly invited and received by the Director of General Services on December 11, 2003; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the bid documents, the bids could not be withdrawn and were subject to contract award for 60 days after bid opening, and the Board reserved the right to reject any and all bids; and WHEREAS the bids received did not comply with the County's Outreach Program requirements, and the Director of General Services recommends that all bids be rejected and that the Board authorize rebidding of the project; and WHEREAS, for the rebidding, the Director of General Services recommends that the cost estimate for the initial construction contract remain at $126,000; NOW, THEREFORE,the Board RESOLVES as follows: The Board, in its discretion, REJECTS all of the bids previously submitted for this project; and The Board READOPTS the plans and specifications with minor modifications and AUTHORIZES the rebidding of this project. Bids for this work will be received. on March 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., and the Clerk of this Board is directed to publish a Notice to Contractors in accordance with Section 22037 of the Public Contract Code inviting bids for said work, said Notice to be published in the CONTRA COSTA TIMES . The Director of General Services is directed to mail notices to the construction trade journals specified in Section 22036 of the Public Contract Code at least 30 days before the date of opening the bids; and The Board FURTHER AUTHORIZES the Director of General Services, or his designee, to issue bid Addenda, as needed, for clarification of the contract bid documents, provided the involved changes do not significantly increase the cost estimate for the initial construction contract.
