"� CONTRA COSTA FROM: John Sweeten, County Administrator ` COUNTY DATE: January 28, 2004 S' SUBJECT: Change the name of CCTV to Office of Communications and Media SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATI©N{5)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION( l: APPROVE the name change of Contra Costa Television (CCTV) to the Office of Communications and Media. FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: CCTV has been a division of the County Administrator's Office over ten years. In that time, the scope of work has broadened from Cable Administration and the County's Government Access Channel to include coordination of the County's public information committee; leadership on the County's Emergency Public Information team; coordination of County public; information efforts; publication of "County Clips"; assistance on and creation of multi-media presentations for conferences and court cases; and responsibility for portions of the County's public awareness campaign. This name more accurately reflects the scope of work Conducted by the division in its support of County departments and its outreach to the general public.
