SUBJECT: FIRST OPTION TO EXTEND THE LEASE FOR THE PREMISES ,
AT 70 LAURITZEN LANE, OAKLEY FOR THE SHERIFF-
CORONER (T00617)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
1. EXERCISE the first option for a two-year extension of the Lease dated February 27, 2001 with
Lauritzen Yacht Harbor LLC for the premises at 70 Lauritzen Lane,l Oakley, for continued
occupancy by the Sheriff-Coroner, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in
the Lease.
2. AUTHORIZE the General Services Director, or designee, to EXERCISE any future options to
extend the Lease.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The exercise of the first option was anticipated and sufficient funds budgeted in the Sheriff-Coroner 's
approved FY 2003/2004 budget as the current lease term ends February 29, 2004. The first option is
for a term of two-years, effective March 1, 2004 through February 28, 2006. The rental rate for the
first year is $1,290 per month, an increase of$50 per month over the previous rate.
BACKGROUND
The County has leased the above 1,725 square foot premises since March 1, 2001. The Lease
provides a second and final option for the period March 1, 2006 through February 29, 2008.
