In the Matter of the Retirement of )
'Phomas Leary,DA Senior Inspector ) RESOLUTION NO.2003/604
WHEREAS, Thomas (Torn) Leary is retiring from his position as LSA Senior Inspector
with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office on October 2, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Tom was initially hired by the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office as a
Deputy Sheriff on September 15, 2975 by Sheriff Harry Ramsay; and
WHEREAS,Tom worked for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office 13 years in various
Divisions including Detention,Work Furlough,Patrol,and Detective, where Tom immediately
demonstrated a keen interest and dedication to investigative work and spent his last five years
with the Sheriffs Office as a Detective working sexual assault, crimes against persons and
property, and homicide cases,
WHEREAS,Tom was hired by Cary T. Yancey as a DA Senior Inspector in the Contra
Costa County District Attorney's Office on September 1, 1988;
WHEREAS,Tom demonstrated the highest degree of professionalism and dedication in all of his
assignments with the District Attomey's Office and spent nearly the last 10 years of his career with the
office assigned to Special Operations working the most sensitive and complex of cases;
WHEREAS,Tom always maintained a balance between his professional career and his
personal life finding time for activities such as his daughters'softball games,camping trips and
musical achievements;
WHEREAS,Tom has dedicated over 28 years of excellent service to the citizens of Contra
Costa County through his tenure with the Sheriffs Office serving for Sheriffs Ramsay and
Rainey, and the District Attorney's Office serving for District Attorneys Yancey and Kochly
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great pleasure in
congratulating Thomas(Tom)Leary on his valuable service to the community and wishes him
many wonderful, exciting and fulfilling years of retirement,
PASSED by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors members present this 14th day of October 2003.

Patricia Sue Ford, DA Senior Inspector } RESOLUTION NO. 2003/605
WHEREAS, Patricia (Trish) Ford is retiring from her position as DA Senior Inspector
with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office on October 31, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Trish was initially hired by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office as a
Deputy Sheriff on October 9, 1973 by Sheriff Karry Ramsay, and
WHEREAS,Trish excelled in each of her assignments with the Sheriff which included
assignments in the Detention Division, Transportation Division, Patrol Division, and the
Detective Division (including the distinction of being the first female assigned to Narcotics in
Centra Costa. County), and was promoted to Sergeant on June 29, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Trish was selected for and assigned to the District Attorney's Office as a
Sergeant/Investigator on January 18, 1999, and was later hired by Gary T. Yancey as a DA
Senior Inspector on July 1, 2000, where she has performed very challenging assignments in
Statutory Rape and Domestic Violence and continually exhibited excellence and pride in her
work as she has done throughout her career, and
WHEREAS,Trish, in additional to the professional demands as a peace officer,found a
way to attend college and obtain her Bachelors' Degree in Business Management from Saint
Mary's College in 1995 and a Juris Doctorate Degree from John F. Kennedy School of Law in
2001,and still managed to remain active in her hobbies that include riding her Harley Davidson
motorcycle, snowboarding and golfing, and
WHEREAS, Trish has dedicated 30 years of excellent service to the citizens of Contra
Costa County through her tenure with the Sheriff's Office serving for Sheriffs Ramsay, Rainey
and Rupf, and the District Attorney's Office serving for District Attorneys Yancey and Kochly,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board takes great pleasure in
congratulating Patricia (Trish) Ford on her valuable service to the community and wishes her
many wonderful,exciting and fulfilling years of retirement
PASSED by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors members present this 24th day of October 2003.

Irene Gonzales )
on her Retirement ) RESOLUTION NO. 2003/606
WHEREAS, Irene Gonzales will retire from Contra Costa County Department of Employment and Human
Services after 36 of exemplary service; and
WHEREAS, Irene Gonzales began her dedicated service with the Department of Employment and Human
Services as a Lead Clerk III. She then became a Senior Clerk in 1979, a Clerical Supervisor of the Data
Coordinator Unit in 1980, and currently serves as Data Control Coordinator with responsibility for East and
Central County offices; and
WHEREAS, Irene Gonzales participated in the redesign of both the Martinez and Antioch department
offices; and
WHEREAS, Irene Gonzales contributed to the betterment of the Department by volunteering to take on extra
assignments and being a mentor to new employees who have gone on to serve the County; and
WHEREAS, Irene Gonzales leaves a legacy of being dedicated, hardworking, loving, supportive and steadfast.
NOW, THEREFORE, BEITRESOLVED, that Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors congratulates
Irene Gonzales for a long career of extraordinary service to our County and wishes her well in all her future
endeavors and many happy times with her family and numerous friends.
