Environmental, for mitigation planting located along San Ramon Creek between Chaney Road and Livorna Road in the Alamo area, with American Contractors Indemnity Company as surety, for work to be performed on the grounds of the County, and The Chief Engineer reports that said work has been inspected and complies with the approved plans, special provisions and standard specifications and recommends its acceptance as complete as of August 31, 2002. Therefore, said work is ACCEPTED as completed on said date, and the Clerk shall file with the County Recorder a copy of this Resolution and Notice as a Notice of Completion for said contract. [CRL7-CP# 02-94] Project Nos. 7784- 6X5407, 7786-6X5417, and 7781--6X5408 (District V) DATE: January 7, 2003 PAGE: 2 IL FINANCIAL IMPACT: The estimated project cost for the Bay Point Parks Renovation Project is $193,915 (67%Park Dedication funds and.33%Proposition 12 funds), Hl. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The project is located in Bay Point,at various County Parks on the North side of Highway 4. (See Fig. 1-2) This proj ect consists of renovating three parks in the Bay Point area:Hickory Meadows Park,Lynbrook Park and View Point Park. Contra Costa County conducted a Park Access and Play Equipment Survey that found a number ofparks in the Bay Point Area in need of renovation in order to meet current safety standards. The proposed renovations will allow these three parks to meet current standards by installing various new park amenities and improving access throughout the parks. Proposed renovations at Lynbrook Park consist of removal of the two old metal and wood play structures installation of new play structure,and installation of a new rotating swing and swing set to replace the existing swings. The walkway across the park will also be replaced and accessible picnic tables, BBQs, trash receptacles, and a drinkingfountain will be installed. New trees will be planted at the picnic area and new lighting will be installed. Turf on the playing field will also undergo restoration.Proposed renovations at Hickory Meadows Park consist,ofremoval of the old wood and metal composite play structure and installation of a new multifunctional play structure. The walkway will be regraded and resurfaced to provide an accessible path to the new play structure. The existing fence around the play area will be replaced and new picnic tables, a trash receptacle, a bench and a bicycle rack will also be installed. Proposed renovations at View Point Park consist of removal of the old play structure and installation of a new play structure and a new bike rack,table,trash receptacle and lighting. An access path to the play equipment will also be installed. All three of the parks will receive additional wood fiber fill underneath the play structures to a proper depth of 12 inches and have new informational signs and public pay phones installed. The proposed project will not remove any existing trees and will not result in a significant environmental impact. Right of way transactions may be necessary. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Delay in approving the project may result in a delay of design and construction and may j eopardize funding.
