FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this contract is included in the Health Services Department Enterprise I budget . Cost to the County depends upon utilization. BACXCRAQUM f RRASOX(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S).: On July 28, 1998, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-338 (a amended by Addendum Agreement #26-338-1) with American Red Cross Blood. Services, for the period from September 1, 1998 through December 31, 2002 to provide total blood and blood component products and associated services as needed for patients at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. Approvalof Agreement #26-338-2 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through December 31, 2003 . In accordance with the terms of the agreement, the County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless American Red Cross Blood Services from claims] arising from the County' s negligence,, in exchange for a similar, indemnification and hold harmless inuring to the benefit of the County,', which was previously approved by County Risk Management .
