FISCAL IMPACT Staff support for the Committee for the next calendar year is estimated to be approximately $45,000.This may vary depending on the work under taken by the Committee. Funding for administrative support to the Committee will be sought by the Community Development Department as part of the annual department budget. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS Exhibit A provides a summary of the Committee's actions on matters referred to it during 2003. This summary provides the basis for the Committee's recommendations described above. Review legislative matters on transportation On February 3, the Committee recommended transportation projects for and water. federal earmarks and requested letters of support for the North Richmond project from adjacent cities. Review dredging and dredge disposal On May 5, the Committee considered providing a position of support for the issues U.S.Army Corps of Engineers as they are presently organized. On June 2,The Committee recommended that the Board supporta$2.5 million request from the FY 2004 federal budget to fund the activities of the Long Term Management Strategy{LTMS)Environment Windows Work Group.
