CONVENE
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
December 16, 2003
Chair Gayle B. Uilkema convened the meeting of the Board of Supervisors this day at 9:07 a.m., in the
Board Chambers, Room 107, of the County Administration Building, 651 Pine Street,Martinez, California.
The Deputy Clerk called the roll, Supervisors present were:
John Gioia,District I;
Gayle B. Uilkema, District II
Millie Greenberg, District III
Federal D. Glover V;
and Chair,Mark DeSaulnier, IV
At approximately 9:10 a.m. the Supervisors adjourned to Closed Session. Following Closed Session, the
Board reconvened in its Chambers at approximately 9:40 a.m. County Counsel stated the Board of
Supervisors authorized initiation of litigation by joining with other public agencies in the state infiling a
proposed lawsuit against the State for itsfailure for either provide the revenue from the Vehicle License Fee
(VLF,}or the offset for it. The particulars, the defendant and the action will be disclosed to anyone who
inquires once that action is filed. The vote was unanimous. The Board then proceeded with its morning
agenda items.
At approximately 12:00 p.m.,the Board adjourned to Closed Session. Following Closed Session,the Board
reconvened and County Counsel advised there were no Closed Session announcements. The Board
proceeded with their afternoon agenda.
