BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. In January 2002, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-517 with Jack Dudler, M.D. , for the period from December 1, 2001 through November 30, 2002 . Approval of Contract #27-=517-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional urgent care services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, through November 30, 2003 . FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Industry fees . HACXGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(3)_: On January 15, 1999, the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors adopted an Industrial Safety Ordinance (ISO) #94-48 to supplement requirements of the Federal Risk Management Program and the California Accidental Release Prevention Program. The ISO currently applies to seven (7) specified industrial facilities in unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County. The ISO requires the development of safety plans, implementation of safety programs, investigations and root-cause analysis to allow the public the opportunity to provide input into the development of the safety plans and safety programs . Under Contract #22-855, Contractor shall act on behalf of the County as the ISO Public Participation Facilitator to develop and implement an intensive public participation program for the Hazardous Materials Program, through May 31, 2003 . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECON+MENDATI ON(S)_: This Contract meets the social needs of County' s population in that it provides intake, crisis intervention, and counseling services for substance abusing and/or mentally ill participants in the State Prop 10 or Ca1WORKs programs, who have also experienced domestic violence, to help eliminate barriers to employment . On August 6, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-060-5 with STAND! Against Domestic Violence, for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 (which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2003) , for the provision of program development, technical assistance, and training to SAMHWorks providers, and domestic violence services to Ca1WORKs clients. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-060-6 will allow the Contractor to provide additional units of service to Proposition 10 clients at the Rose Mary Corbin House, through June 30, 2003 . BACKGR AJIUREASQIN(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On January 8, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-277-2 with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., for the period from January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2002, for the provision of health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan has been a traditional provider of health care services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Contra Costa County. With the implementation of the Local Initiative for Medi-Cal managed care, Kaiser, in order to continue to enroll Medi-Cal members, must affiliate with the Local Initiative. The affiliation arrangement allows Medi-Cal recipients to choose Contra Costa Health Plan as their managed care plan, and designate Kaiser as their provider. Approval of Contract Extension Agreement#27-277-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services, through September 30, 2003. (Required County Match) BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On November 6, 2001, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-080-2 with Nancy Boda Steber,for the period from January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2002. Under Contract#74-080-2, this Contractor has provided consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to administrative analysis and program monitoring for the Children's Mental Health System of Care,as an Independent Contractor Subject To Withholding. The Mental Health Division is requesting that the Contractor provide different services,including the provision of financial consultation and technical assistance to the Mental Health Director, which will require the services of an "Independent Contractor" instead of an "Independent Contractor Subject To Withholding." Therefore,in accordance with General Conditions,Paragraph 5 (Termination),the Department and Contractor have agreed to a mutual cancellation of Contract #74-080-2. Approval of Cancellation Agreement#74-080-3 will accomplish this termination.
