APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fleet Manager to purchase four 2002 Ford Crown Victoria patrol sedans for the Sheriff-Coroner Department/K-9 Program. 2. AUTHORIZE the attached appropriation adjustment for $87,022 from the Sheriff's' budget to General Services/Fleet Services for this purchase. ' FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for these purchases will come from the Sheriff-Coroner Department. An appropriation adjustment is attached to transfer $87,022 from Sheriff-Coroner Department Account 2512/4953 to General Services Fleet Operations Account 4283/4953 to fund the proposed purchase. BACKGROUND: These vehicles are needed to make the K-9 program a viable program before the next budget cycle. The animals have been ordered and vehicles are needed. In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No. 508: County Vehicle and Equipment Acquisition and Replacement Policy with Guidelines," approval is requested for the purchase of the above referenced vehicles. Based on a review of the need for the new vehicles' and 'consideration of alternative fueled vehicles, the Fleet Manager recommends approval of this request. This request has been reviewed and approved by the County Administrator for consideration by the Board of Supervisors. CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT.
