Ordinance 2042-05 was introduce exempting the Office

(Chief Information Officer/Director of Information Technology-Exempt;
DeputyDirector of Information Technology-Exempt; and
Deputy'-Chief'Information Officer-Geographic Information System-Exempt)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical
footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance
Code):
SECTION I: Section 33-5.359 of the County Ordinance Code is amended to exclude the classes
of Chief'Information Officer/Director of Information Technology-Exempt;Deputy Director of
Information Technology-Exempt; and Deputy Chief'Information'Officer-Geographic Information
System-Exempt from the merit system to read:

33-5.359 Information Technology
(a) The chief information officer/director of information technology is excluded and is
appointed by the county administrator.
(b) The deputy director of information technology is excluded and is appointed by
the chief information officer/director of inforination technology.
(c) The deputy chief information officer-geographic information system is excluded
and is appointed by the chief information officer/director of information technology.

SECTION II: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage, and
within 15 days of passage shall be published once with the names of the supervisors voting for and
against it in the Contra Costa Times , a newspaper published``in this County:
