It is unthinkable that St. Vincent de Paul would cease to exist as a service provider thereby effectively eliminating the many other valuable programs they provide to the community. In an attempt to continue the level of services available to the homeless population throughout the County, the County Homeless Program would become the applicant and project sponsor of the FERST multi-service centers and continue to provide basic services to indigent families. This arrangement would allow the County Homeless Program to receive HUD funding for the FERST program and continue a much-needed service for the community. This program is fully funded through HUD dollars. The 20% applicant match ($54,000) required by HUD will be provided by on-going.Homeless Programs projects that are currently appropriated in the budget. No additional County funds required.
