Rupf, Sheriff-Coroner /1 �^ County DATE: October 1,2001 SUBJECT: Approval of Forensic Services Contract with the City of Vallejo SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff, or designee, to sign on behalf of the County an agreement with the City of Vallejo in an amount not to exceed $134,855 to provide forensic services for the period beginning September 1, 2001 and continuing until terminated by either the County or the City of Vallejo. 11. FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE. The revenue from this agreement is budgeted in the Sheriffs fiscal year 2001/2002 budget. 111. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): The Forensic Services Division of the Office of the Sheriff provides forensic services to law enforcement agencies on a fee-for-service basis. The Office of the Sheriff and the above named City have agreed to an estimated fee for services provided during the term of the agreement. The estimated amount of the agreement is based upon the previous years' services provided by the Forensic Services Division to the City of Vallejo. The amount will be adjusted based on the average level of work each subsequent fiscal year that the agreement continues in force. Execution of this agreement allows both the Office of the Sheriff and the City of Vallejo to better budget and simplifies the time-intensive process of preparing monthly invoices.
