ACKNOWLEDGE that the Board of Supervisors appointment and alternate appointment to the California State Association of Coq_ ,-,ties- (CSAC) Board of Directors will expire on November 28, 2001. 2. ,.. REAPPOINT Supervisor Gayle B. Uilkema to the CSAC Board of Directors and Supervisor John Gioia as the alternate to a new term ending November 28, 2002. 3. ORDER that the Board members as named are appointed to serve on Board committees, special county committees and regional boards/committees/ commissions as specified for Internal Committees on Attachment I, Regional Committees on Attachment II and Special Restrictions Committees on Attachment III. 4. UPDATE Attachments I and Ill of this Resolution to reflect the new appointments to CSAC and the change in appointment to the Dougherty Valley Oversight Committee made on September 18, 2001. 5. Costa DATE: September 18, 2001 ' County SUBJECT: MEMBERSHIP ON DOUGHERTY VALLEY OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION *****************REQUEST FOR EMERGENCY ACTION BY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS********************** RECOMMENDATION: It has come to my attention that Supervisor Glover will be unable to attend DVOC which is being held on September 19, 2001. 1 learned of his inability to attend the meeting after the agenda was published and am suggesting a change of county representation on the committee. Supervisor Glover has been unable to attend past DVOC meetings due to conflict with other standing committees. Because of the important nature of the Committee regarding Contra Costa's ability to meet childcare and affordable housing needs and to meet the requirements of the Settlement Agreement, it is important to have two County Supervisors present who are able to vote. No provision has been made for an alternate County representative. I request that Supervisor Glover's appointment as a member of DVOC be deleted as one of his responsibilities and that Supervisor Uilkema replace him as a voting member for the remainder of this year. Supervisor Glover concurs with this recommendation for a change in his appointment responsibilities. Supervisor Gerber would retain her position as Chair of DVOC. It is necessary that the Board act today due to the fact that the Dougherty Valley Oversight Committee will be held tomorrow, September 19, 2001. Supervisor Uilkema will be able to attend the meeting. If the Board approves this recommendation,the modified appointment list for Supervisor's assignments can be formally approved at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting as a consent item.
