SUBJECT: NORTH BROADWAY AREA INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM/PHASE III, BAY POINT-
CONTRACT AMENDMENT
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
As the Governing Board of the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency,
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director- Redevelopment to execute a
contract amendment with the County Public Works Department to increase the
payment limit by$1,461,250 to a new payment limit of$1,566,250 and extend the
term of the contract to December 31, 2003 for Phase III of the North Broadway
Area infrastructure project in the Bay Point Redevelopment Project Area.

RECOMMENDATIONS (continued)
As the Board of Supervisors, APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works
Director to execute a contract amendment with the Redevelopment Agency to
increase the payment limit by $1,461,250 to a new payment limit of $1,566,250
and extend the term of the contract to December 31, 2003 for Phase III of the
North Broadway Area infrastructure project in the Bay Point Redevelopment
Project Area.
FISCAL IMPACT
No General Fund money will be used on this project. The total estimated contract
amount is $1,566,250. The Redevelopment Agency will reimburse Public Works
for expenditures up to $1,566,250 out of its Bond Proceeds and Tax Increments-
Capital Projects for the Bay Point Project Area. The project is included in the
Agency budget, adopted for the use of Bond Proceeds and Tax Increments. In
addition, these costs are included in the proposed 2001/2002 Bay Point
Redevelopment Agency budget.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Phase I of the four-phase North Broadway Infrastructure project was completed in
the fall of 1999. Phase II of the project is currently under construction. The
$1,461,250 amendment includes costs for additional design engineering
($12,000) and right-of-way acquisition ($1,449,250) for the third phase of the
project.
