Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Frank Puglisi) , to execute on behalf of the County, Amendment #26-162- 16 (University 93-03684V) with the Regents of the University of California (U.C. Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) , effective July 1, 2001, to extend the term of the Agreement through June 30 , 2002 , and to increase the total Contract Payment Limit by $54, 500, from $740 , 000 to a new total Payment Limit of $794, 500 for the term of the Contract which began July 1, 1993 . FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded in the Department ' s Enterprise I Budget . The services provided under this agreement are billable to patients and appropriate third party payors . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : For the past several years, the Board of Supervisors has approved contracts with the Regents of the University of California (U. C. Davis School of Medicine) for professional services in several medical specialties . Services are provided to County' s inpatients and outpatients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and the Contra Costa Health Centers by physicians who are U. C. Davis School of Medicine faculty members . On July 13 , 1993 , the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-162-9 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-162-10 through #26-162-15) with the Regents of the University of California (U. C. Davis School of Internal Medicine Department) for professional oncology services for patients treated at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and the Contra Costa Health Centers . Approval of Amendment #26-162-16 will allow the Contractor to continue providing Hematology/Oncology clinic services, through June 30 , 2002 . Three sealed/certified copies of this Board Order should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit .
