professional services notification and project document access over the
Internet at no charge to the County. (All Districts)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute an agency
membership agreement with Onvia.com, Inc. to provide Public Works Department
construction and professional services notification and project document access
over the Internet utilizing their Demandstar system.

II. Financiallmpact:
There is no cost to the County for this service.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
Onvia.com's Demandstar system is similar to an "online" building exchange with
added features such as project document downloading or hardcopy orders to its
subscribers. This non-exclusive agreement with Onvia.com takes advantage of
today's technology in broadcasting our formal construction and professional
services needs.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Regardless of the Board's action, the Department will continue to advertise its
project in its normal fashion utilizing required legal notices, direct notification/
solicitations of firms on Department lists, website postings, and other forms of
advertisement.
