David N. Bauer 147 Loren Lane Oakley, California 94561 BACKGROUND: The term of the one members of the Board of Trustees of Jersey Island Reclamation District No. 830 expires in November 2001. As required by Reclamation District Law (Water Code Section 50731.5), the Secretary of the District published a "Notice Calling for Nominations" for the office of Trustee by or before 5:00 p.m., September 14, 2001. As of the deadline, RD 830 received nominations only for the incumbent Trustee. The reclamation District Law provides that since only one person was nominated for one vacancy, an election shall not be held and the Board of Supervisors shall appoint the nominee to the office of Trustee (Water Code Sections 50740 and 50741).
