SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to INCREASE the contract (#40-068-5) payment limit with Ms. Katherine Barnes, from
$41,000 to a total amount of$65,844 for technical assistance and consultation to the Contra
Costa County Advisory Council on Aging for the Family Caregiver Support Program for the
period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RFCOMMF.NDF.D ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to INCREASE
the contract (#40-068-5) payment limit with Ms. Katherine Barnes, from $41,000 to a total amount of
$65,844 for technical assistance and consultation to the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging for
the Family Caregiver Support Program for the period of July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.
FINANCIA1, IMPACT:
$65,844 Older Americans Act; 90% Federal, 10% State.
BACKGROUND*
Ms. Barnes provides assistance the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging, advocacy committees and
working groups, including but not limited to, the Housing Committee, Legislative Review Committee,
Health/Mental Health Committee, and Long Term Care Committee. The contractor assists committees in
development of annual work plans, required reports and implementation of advocacy efforts. The increased
contract payment limit reflects an increase in the number of hours Ms. Barnes will provide professional staff
services and be available to the committees.
