Bay Point Waterfront Strategic Planning Process—Contract Amendment
Page 2
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The Bay Point Project Area Committee and Municipal Advisory Council have
identified the waterfront as a critical aspect to the revitalization of Bay Point.
The area includes the recently acquired East Bay Regional Park District property,
one active marina, and one marina recently closed due. The goal of the strategic
planning process is to identify logistical links between what the Bay Point
community desires and the resources available to develop a viable waterfront for
the Bay Point community that includes the tangible and intangible aspects of a
healthy place. The results of the strategic planning process will be reported to the
Redevelopment Project Area Committee and the County Board of Supervisors.
