Recommended Action: DETERMINE that the emergency action taken by the Board of Supervisors on July 24, 2001, pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 22035 and 22050, to repair the Briones Valley Road Bridge may be terminated, Brentwood area. [CP# 01-42) (District V) Project No.: 0662-6U4004-01 DATE: December 18, 2001 PAGE 2 II. Financiallmpact: Estimated cost is $50,000 (100% Road Funds). Final costs pending submittal of billing from Hess Construction. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: A. On July 24, 2001, the Board of Supervisors declared an emergency and authorized the Public Works Director to proceed in the most expeditious manner to repair the Bridge. B. Repair status: Hess Construction has completed the installation of a prefabricated Bailey style bridge including foundations, deck grating and approach roadways. With this work completed, the public may now safely traverse the creek, therefore the Emergency Action may be terminated. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: A negative action would have no impact on the replacement of the structure.
