In the Matter of Commending Mike George ) Resolution No. 2001/470
on the Occasion of His Celebration of Thirty Years )
of Employment with Contra Costa County )
WHEREAS Mike George was initially hired November 1, 1971 as an Administrative Analyst in
the Human Resources Department and worked in that office until June 9, 1980; and
WHEREAS from June 9,1980 through January 21, 1981, he worked as a Personnel Analyst III in
the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS Mike was promoted to Administrative Services Officer on January 21, 1981, and to
Chief of Administrative Services on October 1, 1987; and
WHEREAS Mike effectively manages all fiscal and budgetary issues within the Contra Costa
County Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS Mike has earned the respect and admiration of his supervisors and co-workers;and
WHEREAS Mike has the reputation of squeezing a nickel until the buffalo cries; and
WHEREAS Mike epitomizes the stewardship and professionalism provided by the Contra Costa
County Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS the excellent financial accounting of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District
is a credit to the dedication and experience of Mike George;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra
Costa hereby acknowledges and celebrates Mike George on the occasion of his thirtieth year as
an employee of Contra Costa County and thanks him for his dedicated service to the Contra
Costa County Fire Protection District and the people of this county.
PASSED and ADOPTED by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors members present
this 6th day of November 2001.
