I 1 • ;t Y. 1 1 G:: Y. Kathy's mental illness was first apparent to the family approx. 18 years ago. She was diagnosed as manic/depressive at that time. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia approx. 4-6 years later. During a lot of this time Kathy saw a counselor and was on medication, although she did quit the medication from time to time. She had occasional drinking which became more frequent as time went on. When Kathy did drink she was always violent She used to attack my parents and her husband regularly kicking and hitting them leaving nasty bruises and lumps. This was in front of her children and sometimes when her husband was holding them. Approx. 12 years ago on Thanksgiving Kathy left her 2 year old,her 3 year old and her husband to move in with some guy. Her drinking increased, she now refused medication completely, she became increasingly violent. There have been many incidents of Kathy attacking our mother who went to police and was photographed and got restraining orders against her. The police were called many times to my mother's house to take her away as she would get wild screaming and threatening. The San Pablo Police know my sister well. They know the areas she frequents and have told me on many occasions that she is a known drug user and have picked her up numerous times for attaching people on the street. She is extremely violent and unpredictable. She has been taken by ambulance many times to area hospitals and to Martinez Pyschiatric Hospital. From approx. 1982 until 3 years ago when our father died Kathy just went from house to house from relationship to relationship. Each stay lasting less and less timc. When our father died it changed her, d:addy was also manic/depressive and had always been very close to her. She was devastated by the loss and started living on the street. To my knowledge this is when she first started self-medicating with street drugs as well as alcohol. Her anger and rage was apparent most of the time now.Her times of calm were much fewer and far between. Kathy stayed at my home several times for 1-2 weeks each time after daddy's death and she would pace back and forth constantly and repeat over and over things she had said and talk very threateningly about others especially our other sister Sharon who Kathy has threatened to kill many times.Marry times when Kathy was admitted to Martinez Psych she would call me from there and threaten Sharon.I called and told them at the hospital but Kathy would be out the next day. 'There have been so many stays there I have lost track. I have begged them to help her not spit her back out on the street to be hurt again. :Kathy eats out of garbage cans, she sleeps in bushes or on the sidewalk, she walks around in a shirt and nothing else a lot of the time. She is a practicing prostitute who does her business behind a liquor store by the dumpster. She is beaten on a regular basis. I have seen knots on her forehead that looked like an egg was under her skin which she lanced herself Please help my sister,Please keep her here for the 14 day stay and Delp her to get straightened out. On June 11*of this year our mother died which has affected her very much also. Just last week my nephew went looking for her and found her behind that same liquor store with a man holding a gun to her head forcing her to give him oral.sex. Still Kathy says she is ok. SHE IS NOT OK!She is going to die on the street if someone doesn't do something. Please,I am begging you to help my sister. I love her and I want her to get getter, that will newer happen without some kind of intervention she does not realize there is a problem. She told me yesterday it was going to be ok because she had a new boyfriend who killed people and he would protect her,no one would hurt her anymore. Kathy's hair was so matted yesterday it had to be cut. She cannot care for herself; Please have compassion and keep her here for evaluation and treatment.-thank you Debbie Teal, please subpeona police records they need to be seen :., 2 ;. sa . # 1 v ., . : ,_ . S y yy y{y f • + o .;pmt-.. A A . y . , Y f, > is - = ,,j'Y_' .. ' $ ,,. q.: r a Iv 9 x f Si +± n., „yr , , i 4 .,. •sMp l/p fi t <w'f iQR4 r i t} •.v , 1/ f Y i i 5 '> E NOVEMBER,1, 09, 20001 TO: COCO COUNTY REGIONAL CENTER, DR.
