All utility boxes and monument boxes in the pavement will be raised to the new road surface elevation. No additional right-of-way will be required. All existing highway signs will remain in place. Design and implementation of traffic control will be at the discretion of the contractor, however, in order to minimize traffic impacts during peak hours, lane closures will be avoided during the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. During off-peak hours, one-lane traffic control utilizing pilot cars will be implemented. Design and implementation of traffic control will be at the discretion of the contractor. The contractor will follow the Caltrans Manual of Traffic Controls. In order to minimize traffic impacts during peak hours, lane closures will generally be avoided to the extent feasible. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. The surveys will typically occur during or soon after storm events and will be conducted approximately one half-hour following sunset to midnight. Equipment will consist of rain gear for the surveyors and spotlights/flashlights.
