Runoff from new impervious surface created by Subdivision 8104 will drain into the Bettencourt Detention Basin, which will provide flood protection. In 1988 Drainage Area 1010 was created to provide a legal entity under which benefit assessments for maintenance of the basin can be levied. The annexation will provide funds to maintain the detention basin.
