THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring Paul Cooper )
On the Occasion of his Retirement as ) RESOLUTION NO. 2000/'8
Councilman for the City of Pleasant Hill)
WHEREAS, he dedicated 21 years to bettering the Pleasant Hill community as a councilperson,
was selected Mayor five times, an honor only he has held during Pleasant Hill's history ; and
WHEREAS, in the capacity as a councilperson he served as Chair of the Pleasant Hilt
Martinez Joint Facilities Agency, on the East Bay Division League of California Cities, the
Association of Bay Area Governments and the Contra Costa County Airport Land Use
Commission; and
WHEREAS, he is ending his term by representing the Mayors' Conference on the Bay Area Air
Quality Management District Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, all of his regional work has contributed to improving the quality of life not only of
Pleasant Hill, but also, Contra Costa County, and, indeed the Bay Area in its entirety; and
WHEREAS, he has been a dedicated public servant, and a Management Systems Manager for
BART, he also has taken the time to write, Weekend Warriors, published in 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares February 4,
2000 Paul Cooper Day. W
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON January 11, 2000, by a unanimous vote of the Board
members present.
