The Board of Supervisors adjourned today's meeting in honor of the memory
of John Fallon, Personal Computing Services Manager, Department of Information
Technology, Contra Costa County.
The attached citation was presented to the Fallon family by Supervisor Joseph
Canciamilla, District Y.

IN RECOGNITION OF HONEST ANIS FAITHFUL SERVICE TO
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BY
JOTIN FALLON
WHEREAS, this posthumous award is being made to honor the memory and recognize
the devoted service to Contra Costa County of John Fallon; and
WHEREAS, John first began his career with Contra Costa County in January, 1983
and during these many years proved to be a capable, and trustworthy employee, devoting himself
unselfishly to the duties of his position; and
WHEREAS, throughout his long career with Contra Costa County, John earned the
respect, admiration and high regard of all those with whom he came into contact who were
proud to call him friend; and
WHEREAS, John was instrumental in building the County's entire personal computing
services program. He also provided input and growth in the development ofpersonal computer
use in all California Counties through his work in the late 1980's with the California County
Information Services Director's association; and
WHEREAS, John was responsible for working on the development program that saw
the contracting out ofpersonal computer training, resulting in a much more efficient use of
County funds and employee time; and
WHEREAS, John was also instrumental in the development of a new computer program
in 1998, which has been deemed by some department heads as the "the best program in 10
years"
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOL VED by the Board of Supervisors and employees
of the County of Contra Costa, California, does hereby extend this official citation be
transmitted with our heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family.
