SPECIFIC REQUESTS)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S) :
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Wendel Brunner, M.D. ) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation
Contract #29-285-17 with the City of San Pablo to provide congregate
meal services for the County' s Senior Nutrition Program, for the
period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001 . This Contract
includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30,
2001 .
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County cost is included.
BACKGOMM/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) :
This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that
it provides an average of 90 meals per day, five days per week, for
senior citizens at the Senior Citizens Center in San Pablo.
On December 7, 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract
#29-285-16 with the City of San Pablo, for the period from July 1,
1999 through June 30, 2000 (which included a three-month automatic
extension through September 30, 2000) for the provision of
congregate meal services for County' s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #29-285-17 will replace the three-
month automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow
the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2001 .

This Contract meets the social needs of the population of the County
by providing an average of 50 meals per week, for senior citizens
at the Golden Rain Dining Room in Walnut Creek.
On March 7, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-644
with Golden Rain Foundation, for the period from January 21, 2000
through June 30, 2000 (which included a three-month automatic
extension through September 31, 2000) for the provision of
congregate meal services for County' s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #28-644-1 will replace the three-month
automatic extension under the prior Contract, and allows the
Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2001 .

automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the
Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2001 .

#28-530-6 with the City of San Ramon for the period from July 1,
1999 through June 30, 2000 (which included a three-month automatic
extension through September 30, 2000) for the provision of
congregate and home-delivered meal services for County' s Senior
Nutrition Program.

automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the
Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2001.
