THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing
Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is the ex-officio governing Board
RESOLVES THAT:
1. Effective April 1, 2001, the following classes shall be adjusted upward on the County
salary schedule by 5%:

2, Lump Sura Payment: A Lump Sum Pay will be calculated for all eligible earnings. This
includes employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings computed as a
percentage of base pay from April 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000.
A. The April 1, 2000 increase will be paid retroactively in a lump sum payment to
each employee from April 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000 without interest.
B. The payment amount, thus computed, will be paid as a "Lump Sum Payment" and
will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements.
PASSES by vote of the Board members present on this 19"' day of December 2000,

ADD one 40/40 Deputy County Counsel — Standard position (2ETJ) at salary
range XD — 2616 ($5685 - $7947)
4- This action is requested by the County Counsel Department in order to assign
staff to a position where they will work with senior level incumbents pending
their retirements This will allow the County Counsel Department to more
effectively facilitate succession planning.
4+ Human Resources staff has determined that the level of the classification
requested is appropriate for the scope of work that will be performed.
Funding for this action is budgeted and will be provided by balance from
revenue for legal services provided.
County Counsel has requested an effective date of December 20, 2000,
+ Deputy County Counsel is Management — Classified and Exempt, therefore
there are no € nion issues.
