These specifications outline an after hours work plan to avoid interruption to hospital operations and establish minimum qualifications of the sprinkler contractor. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Time is of the essence for replacement of the defective fire sprinkler heads. The 1,750 heads are located throughout hospital operating and recovery rooms, patient. rooms, and public waiting areas. The replacement cost may exceed established thresholds for informal biddingprocedures. A preliminary market survey indicates that qualified contractors are too busy with existing or scheduled work to prepare formal bids for the replacement project. Contact.
