If the activities have not been initiated, the legislative body may extend the period during which the Agency may retain the property for one additional period not to exceed five years. The resolution of extension shall affirm the intention of the Board of Supervisors that the property be used for the development of low-to moderate-income housing. Since the property is within the boundaries of the Bay Point/Pittsburg BART Station Specific Plan, the Agency has postponed doing substantive work until the Specific Plan is adopted. Adoption of the Specific Plan is expected to occur in 1999. Development of said property would occur within the next five years. Staff' is therefore recommending that the Board of Supervisors adopt the resolution to extend by five years the period that the Agency may retain the property for the development of housing affordable to low- and moderate-income households, LPC:LPC c:\baypoint\housing\anchor.cve ,Jt .........I.................................................................................................I......................................... ..................................................................
