III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The County has entered into a Conservation Easement with the California Department of Fish& Game to
provide protected habitat for endangered species at the Byron Airport. The Conservation Easement provides
that the County will allow cattle grazing on specific parcels of land to maintain a specified grass height. The
tenant to the lease will provide a substantial amount of fencing improvements to the leased premises as
consideration for the lease. This action will authorize the execution of the lease agreement.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The County will not execute the Lease, and the parcel of land at the Byron Airport will not be grazed.
