Novation Contract #24-876-4 replaces the six-month automatic contract extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 1999. RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On June 16, 1998, the Board of ,Supervisors approved Contract #24- 859-4 with Edgewood Center for Children and Families (Center) , for the period from July 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999, for the provision of day treatment services for severely emotionally disturbed children. The Department was recently notified that the State had changed the daily rates for these day treatment services effective July 1, 1998 . Two children were in the program prior to July 1, 1998 and they will remain in the Center at the old rate . However, four additional children have been admitted to the Center since approval of the current Contract . Approval of this Amendment Agreement will allow the Contractor to provide additional day treatment services and will increase the payment; rate from $75 per day to a new rate of, $100 per day, effective July 1, 1998, in conjunction with the State-required rate increase.
