HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02231999 - C64 THF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on February 23, 1999 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Gioia, Uilkema, Gerber llpgaulnier and canciamilla NOES: Mone ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: done SUBJECT: In the Matter of Adjusting Compensation for Child Development Represented and Management Resolution No. 99 / 59 Employees in the Community Services Department Commencing July 1, 1998 WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Community Services Director to execute Contracts #GCTR-8036, #FCTR-8014, #GPRE-8020, #GWAP-8006 with the State Department of Education and Contracts #39-811-8 and #39-850-2 with the Contra Costa Community College District to continue to provide general child care and expanded state preschool services to program eligible children, and WHEREAS said contracts provide for a cost of living increase of three point two percent (3.2%) to eligible Child Development employees effective July 1, 1998. Now therefore, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as Governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio Governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: A) Effective February 1, 1999, represented classifications in the Child Development program as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 32 levels: Classification Class Code Child. Development Education Specialist-P 9953 Child Development Teacher-P 99H1 Child Development Teacher-Substitute 99H2 Child Development Associate Teacher-P 99V3 Child Development Associate Teacher-Substitute 99V4 Child Development Teacher Assistant-P 99W7 Child Development 'Teacher Assistant-Substitute 99V6 Child Development Enrollment & Facilities Asst.-P 9856 Child Development Support Services Assistant-P 99W8 Child Development Accounting Assistant-P 9JV6 Child. Development Building Services Worker-P 9911 B) Effective February 1, 1999, Child Development management classifications as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 32 Levels: Classification. Division Manager-P 99B1 Child Development Site Supervisor I-P 99H4 Child Development Site Supervisor II-P 99N2 Child Development Site Supervisor III-P 99N3 C) Effective February 1, 1999, represented classifications in the Child Nutrition program as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule as shown: Classification Class Code Levels Community Services Intermediate Clerk-P 9JV3 32 Child Nutrition Worker I-P 98W1 96 Child Nutrition Worker I-P-Substitute 98W3 96 Child Nutrition Worker II-P 9801 68 Child Nutrition Worker III-P 9802 96 Child Nutrition Food Service Transporter-P 98W2 77 Child Nutrition Food Services Assistant-P 98V1 20 D) Effective February 1, 1999, Child Nutrition management classifications will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule as shown: Classification Class Code Levels Community Services Food Services Manager-P APD 1 32 Child Nutrition Food Operations Sup-P 9JS3 32 Child Nutrition Division :Nutritionist-P 9JS2 21 E) Lump Sum Payment. All persons who occupy a permanent position in any of the above listed represented and management classifications or who are authorized as limited terra employees on February 1, 1999, shall be retroactively compensated back to July 1, 1998. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation processing back to July 1, 1998, the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from July 1, 1998, through January 31, 1999, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the Retro Pay Base (RPB). This base will be multiplied by the designated percent: (%). The payment amount thus computed for the eight month period of arrears will be added to the employee's paycheck as soon as practical operation of the automated payroll system will permit where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUFI PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deductions requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contact the Community Services Department and the Auditor's office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible.
