Recommended Action: Authorize the Contra Costa County Purchasing Services Manager to sign the following service contract amendment identified below: Service contract with Group Ipex, Inc. is amended for an additional amount of $73,000, raising the cap to $169,000. The service contract term is extended from February 1, 1999 to August 1, 1999. II. Financial Impact: Gone. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Public Works Department has contracted with Group Ipex, Inc. to provide a database programming resource. The Department is very satisfied with this consultant's work, and would like to have the original contract limits increased and extended. IV. Section 36.4 duration of Agreement is modified to read in full as follows: This agreement shall continue in full force and effect from October 1, 1995 to and including March 15, 2000. Said agreement shall automatically renew from year to year thereafter unless either party gives written notice to the other prior to sixty (50) days from the aforesaid termination date of its intention to amend, modify or terminate the agreement. B. If the Fire Chief exercises discretion to allow any Fire Inspector to home garage a District vehicle, the Fire Inspector will pay $.15 per mile to the District for travel using the vehicle between home and work. C• The Personnel Bulletin entitled Vacation Policy will be modified to read as follows` IV. O.1 Ten (10) shift employees from the classifications of Firefighter, Fire Engineer and Fire Captain shall be allowed off on vacation per shift at one time. One (1) shift employee from the classifications of Fire Dispatcher and Senior Fire Dispatcher shall be allowed off on vacation per shift at one time, D. For the duration of this Agreement, the parties agree that the District monthly payment for PERS Medical premiums will continue at the current rate.
