Public access to the building will be from B Street. A vehicular drop-off area in front of the MAC allows traffic to circumvent the Hospital's drop-off zone, helping to reduce congestion generated by two heavy-use buildings.Staff and patients coming from the Hospital and/or Cafeteria have the option to enter the building from the West side of the campus. The project will be constructed in two phases. In Phase I, a 35-space parking lot will be completed. In Phase 11, 144 parking spaces will complete the full build- out of the parking area after demolition of the Specialty North and Eligibility buildings. Breaking up the area into distinct masses allows more opportunity for natural light into the clinics and reinforces way finding through a fully-glazed public corridor that always looks out onto a central garden. A unique component will be the Infusion Center located on the ground floor with a private garden offering the option to receive chemotherapy in an outdoor setting. A common feature for all participants will be the overall experience of a building and garden as an 4-- oasis of green landscaping and quiet water pools within the busy medical center campus. 5X- The The main features of the SH landscape are the reflecting pools and water channels. The water features are linear in form and will reflect the form of the courtyard defined by the architecture. The water course begins at the entrance of the building. The sound of water , flowing through the stone ,mss channel will create a pleasing effect for visitors passing through. The channel will be lined with granite blocks of varying sizes. They will also serve as seating elements. The second feature will be located within the courtyard and will be an extension of the entry water feature. They will be accessible visually and physically from the adjacent waiting rooms. The planting and hardscapes areas will define the edges of the landscape, and the series of hedges in the design will accentuate the flow of the space. The composition of the various landscape elements will serve to create a place of gathering and contemplation.
