SUBJECT: Establish New Classes and Reclassification
This is a request to implement the following actions:
l) Establish the class of Payroll Systems Accountant I and II
2) Reclassify position #176 and incumbent, Bette Wilkinson, from Supervising Accountant to Payroll
Systems Accountant II
3) Reallocate the Salary Level of Systems Accountant I and II
The action to establish the classes of Payroll Systems Accountant I and II is necessary to properly
reflect the new functions that have evolved from the HR/Payroll PeopleSoft/Kronos System
Implementations and the ongoing need for internal technical/functional payroll systems support staff.
The reclassification of Bette's position also is necessary to properly recognize the duties performed by
Bette for the past several years.

PS Panels and procedures, Upgrades, new releases, and Payroll procedures related to PeopleSoft.
On going For Payroll Division& Departmental Pay personnel and for new employees in either
I. Develop Training Course(s) for PeopleSoft and Payroll as it relates to PeopleSoft. Who,
What,Where,When.
II. Develop Training Materials for PeopleSoft and Payroll.
III. Conduct/Lead Training workshops/Classes

relate to PeopleSoft.
TABLE MAINTENANCE & UPDATES
1. Manual—Responsible for all Auditor's assigned Tables including but not limited to Retirement,
Accruals, Special Accumulators, Department, Earnings and Earnings Programs, and Deduction
and General Deduction.
This can be annual or as required as a result of labor agreements, resolutions or federal/state
laws.
11. System—Responsible to define &Specify requirements for system wide updates. Work with
Technical staff. This can be annual or as required (see 1)
PAYROLL FUNCTIONAL CONTRACT
Functional contact for PeopleSoft issues, updates and changes by working with/on the various
Teams and Work Groups. The role can be as Leader, member or advisor. As part of the various
teams, will be expected to complete various information requests, schedules, research and other
tasks.

Responsible for each year's Pay Calendars for Both On and Off Cycle Pay Calendars
Reports & Queries
As requested will develop short-term queries.
Working with I. T. staff,will define specifications for changes to existing reports or creation of new
reports for Auditors and Other County Departments.

Maintain PeopleSoft Reference Materials.
On an on going basis increase functional and technical knowledge of PeopleSoft through
documentation review, training classes and Professional Organizations.
Pay Processing
Responsible for the Operation and production of the Advance, Semi Monthly, Monthly and on
request special pays.
On Cycle—Advance, Semi Monthly and Monthly processes
SCHEDULES; Development and review with Payroll Division leader(s)
PROCESSING STEPS; Create Paysheets, run special non PeopleSoft programs, review the
Kronos Time Keeping system's information and loading to the PeopleSoft PaySheets; run Pay
Calculation, review various reports, run Pay Confirmation, review various reports, Run Auditor's
and Departmental Pay Reports.
Duties include reviewing the control reports and directing appropriate staff as necessary to clear
warnings, errors and other problems before proceeding with the pay process.
Off Cycle Pay Processes
Includes Calendar and schedule maintenance and Report processing and distribution.
Give direction as needed for the processing procedures regarding Off Cycle process.
