SUBJECT: Report on Remaining Items to Conclude the Committee Calendar for 1999
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Refer the following items to the Transportation, Water and Infrastructure
Committee for 2000:
- Transportation and water-related legislative matters;
- All applications for transportation grants to be prepared by the Public Works and
Community Development Departments;
- Development and implementation of the State Transportation Improvement
Program;
- Oversight of the activities of the Ad Hoc Intercity Rail Advisory Committee which
advises the Board on intercity passenger rail issues;
- The County Road improvement Program Update;
- Monitoring the activities of the Contra Costa Go-Bike! Program and the
Reorganization of the Countywide Bicycle Advisory Committee;
- EBMUD American River Water Project, San Ramon Valley Pipeline Project
Facilities Management Program, and recycled water projects.
Baldwin Ship Channel/Southampton Shoal, and upland disposal of dredge
material;
MTC's Transportation Blueprint for the 21 st Century;
East County Habitat Conservation Program;
Iron Horse Corridor Management Program; and
San Luis Drain and Grasslands Bypass projects.
East County Water Management programs.

FISCAL IMPACT
None. These activities have been incorporated into the budgets of the affected departments.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
On December 6, 1999, the Transportation, Water and Infrastructure reviewed the referrals it had
received during the year. Several of these items were found to be of routine or continuing interest to
the Committee. Several items have not been completed and should be concluded next year. The
Committee recommends that these items remain on the Committee calendar for 2000.
