Ordinance No. 98-45 ordains Assistant ChiefDeputy District Attorney - Exempt and Chief Deputy Public Administrator -- Exempt (a) . The Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney - Exempt is excluded from the merit system and is appointed by the District Attorney. (b) . ATTESTED:November 3, 1998 PHIL BATCHELOR,Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator Deputy 37 ORDINANCE NO, 99-q ' (Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney-Exempt, Chief Deputy Public Administrator-Exempt) The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code). SECTION I; Section is added to the County Ordinance Code to exclude the classes of Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney - Exempt and Chief Deputy Public Administrator-Exempt from the merit system to read: Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney - Exempt and Chief Deputy Public Administrator - Exempt (a). The Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney Exempt is excluded from the merit system and is appointed by the District Attorney. (b). The Chief Deputy Public Administrator - Exempt is excluded from the merit system and is appointed by the District Attorney. (Ord. 98-____) SECTION II: EFFECTIVE BATE: This ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage, and within 15 days of passage shall be published once with the names of the supervisors voting for and against it in the a newspaper published in this County. .PASSED ON by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAIN: ATTEST: PHIL BATCHELOR, Clerk of the Board and County Administrator By Board Chair S7RI3 MA=NG. s- Board of Supervisors Agenda October 27, 1998 District Attorney Department ORDINANCE NO. 98 - Establish the classification of Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney - Exempt AND Establish the classification of Chief Deputy Public Administrator-Exempt. • The actions requested by this Ordinance are to establish the classifications of Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney - Exempt and Chief Deputy Public Administrator - Exempt as requested on P-300 #17947 and P-300 #17948 respectively. • The District Attorney's office needs to establish these exempt classifications to clarify the chin of command. • The asst of these actions will be funded by the abolishment of the Chief Deputy Public Administrator position#5969 and finding from the District Attorney's budget. • These classifications are exempt and therefore not represented.
