There are sectionsof the building that do not provide sufficient weather protection allowing for continued deterioration. Additionally, there are small garages on the ''Winslow Avenue side of the property used for storage that appear to be failing given their angle to the perpendicular. David Townsend from the decision of the County Abatement Officer (Larry Hogan) declaring as a public nuisance (C.C.C. Ordinance Code 14-6.410) the opened and abandoned multi-story structure and the accumulation of garbage/debris in violation of(Section 203 U.B.C. & 74-1.002) of the County Ordinance Code, on property located at 819 Loring Avenue, Crockett. B:bg attachment cc: County Counsel July 20, 1998 Building Inspection Department Property Conservation Division Neighborhood Preservation Program 651 Pine Street,4th Floor Martinez,California 94553-0152 RE: 83.9 LURING AVE.,CROCKET I`, APN#354-094-009 Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, I intend on complying with the"Notice and Order to Abate" letter received on July 7, 1998 but need additional time to bring the building into compliance. I had already begun clearing the garages, located directly behind the building,on Winslow Ave. (see attachment 6123198)when your letter was received. There was years of garbage and debris that people have stored in the garages,as well as along side and underneath the structure. Since July 11, myself and three other people have been clearing the property of this accumulation of garbage amd debis. After the garages and surrounding area are cleared of garbage and debris,my immediate plans for the building at 819 Loring Ave.are: Clear the garbage and debris from the interior of the building Repair anchor replace all broken or missing windows Repair all doors and secure with deadbolts Front of building--Whitewash exterior,clean windows,window coverings Sides and rear of building--Remove falling shingles,whitewash exterior There is absolutely no way I could accomplish a task of this size within the twenty day time frame you allotted. Therefore,I am requesting September 25 as a date for completing the aforementioned work on 819 Loring Ave. Thank you in advance for considering this request.
