A site inspection was conducted on that date and revealed an unsecured abandoned house with several inches of fecalmatter throughout the structure. The house was ordered to be secured immediately due to its proximity to a ',primary school and the attractive nuisance it had become. The property is in violation of Title 7, Chapter 712-2.004 (substandard building and maintaining a public nuisance) . The owner of the property has been notified through written correspondence and certified mail. On August 6, 1998, the Building Inspection Department declared the property a public nuisance and posted a Notice and order to Abate under Title 1, Chapter 14-6. This appeal is being made under the provisions of this title. ADDENDUM FOR ITEM DA October 20, 1998, Agenda On September 15, 1998, the Board of Supervisors continued to this date the hearing on the appeal of Edna Erwin (Owner) from the decision of the County Abatement Officer declaring as a public nuisance property located at 392 Marina Road, Bay Point area. Larry Hogan, Senior Building Inspector was present for the hearing. The hearing was opened and no one appearing to present testimony, the hearing was closed. Mr. Hogan informed the Board that the owner had obtained pertinent County permits, and was in the process of doing the necessary repairs under those permits, and that the abatement process was not going forward at this time. Supervisor Uilkema moved that the public hearing be closed, and that the Board accept the withdrawal of the abatement process. Supervisor Rogers seconded the motion, and the Board took the following action: CLOSED the public hearing; and ACCEPTED THE WITHDRAWAL of the abatement action.
