THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CAILHORNIA
Adopted this Order on October 13, 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Uillcema, Gerber, DeSaulnier, Canciamilla and Rogers
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Report by the County Administrator on media reports regarding a
child
This matter was brought to the attention of the Board after the Agenda was
posted. The Board, by unanimous vote, agreed to consider it.
At the request of Supervisor DeSaulnier, the County Administrator presented an
oral report on the media reports of October 11 and October 12, 1998, alleging
that a resident of Richmond dropped off her 4 year old son on an Oakland street
to the care of a stranger.
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the report of the County Administrator
has been RECEIVED and the Social Services Department is DIRECTED to
provide the Family and Human Services Committee with a report regarding
appropriate handling of this type of situation.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and

the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the
