(Transportation) $ 1,825 #20-070 Community Food Coalition of Contra Costa County $27,675 (Countywide Emergency Food Services) #20-187 Home Health & Counseling, Inc. (Meals on Wheels) $ 3,625 #20-322 Family Stress Center, Inc. (Counseling & Parent Aide Services) $18,021 #20-358 Contra Costa Children's Council (Parent Aides) $ 5,677 #20-387 Contra Costa Children's Council (Day Care Resource Coordinator) $15,593 #20-417 Contra Costa Crisis & Suicide Intervention Services $ 3,750 (Crisis Telephone Service) #20-418 Los Medanos College (Family Day Care Training) $ 875 #20-512 Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County, Inc. $15,750 (Child Abuse Prevention Service) #20-575 West Coast Children's Center (Therapeutic Counseling Services) $ 3,333 TOTAL $ 101,374 FINANCIAL IMPACT By extending 1985-86 fiscal year contracts at the existing rate, there will be expenditure of County funds prior to adoption of the budget. For those contractors receiving Board approval for continued County funding beyond the approved extension period, Novation contracts will be executed for FY 1986-87. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Board has not yet begun ;its public hearing procedures relative to its adoption of a FY 86-87 County budget. During this interim period it has been customary in past years to extend existing County-funded contracts pending adoption of the County Budget so as not to cause interruption of service. In addition, by extending the existing contracts, financial hardship on the contractors is minimized, some of whom have not had adequate notice; to allow them to make alternate plans for funding of their services. I CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Services as listed above would be terminated with possible negative consequences to the community, the clients served, and the contractors involved. i HDR/dc 3board.1 I r i
