REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The California Trade and Commerce Agency has notified us that the Contra Costa PIC would refunded for calendar year 1999 to host a California Trade and Commerce Agency grant-funded Small Business Development Center (SBDC) . This is the fifth year that the PIC has been funded to host the SBDC. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County an amendment to extend the term of a Cooperative Agreement with the Pinole Redevelopment Agency to provide up to twenty-four (24) months of Small Business Development Center technical assistance and outreach service, with no change in amount of reimbursable fees, to small business owners who own businesses located in the City of Pinole; maximum reimbursable fees will be $5, 000. II . FINANCIAL IMPACT: None; no direct general funds required; expenditures will be funded by the Pinole Redevelopment Agency and County Small Business Development Center State grant . III . CHILDREN IMPACT STATEMENT: None. IV. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: By its order dated May 12, 1998, the Board authorized execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the Pinole Redevelopment Agency to provide technical assistance and outreach services to small businesses in the City of Pinole. This agreement amendment will provide an additional 24 months of services to City businesses, with no increase in maximum reimbursable fees.
