SUBJECT: Oakley Real Property Agreement
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
AUTHORIZE the County Risk Manager, or his designee, and the Deputy Director -
Redevelopment to execute a Real Property Agreement on behalf of the County and the
County Redevelopment Agency respectively relative to property acquired at Norcross Road
and Main Street, Oakley.
FISCAL IMPACT
This Agreement sets forth the terms under which the County Liability Reserve Fund will be
compensated for its interest in the subject property.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
On September 23, 1997 the Board of Supervisors, sitting as the governing board of the
County and the Redevelopment Agency, authorized settlement of litigation (Harold and
Barbara Rodrigues vs. Contra Costa County and the Contra Costa County Red velopment

Agency; Superior Court Case No. C96-05370). To settle the case, the County and the Redevelopment
Agency agreed to purchase an approximate 5.8 acre property at the southwest corner of Norcross Road and
Main Street, Oakley (AP#035-090-062 and 066). The County, through its Liability Reserve Fund, and the
Redevelopment Agency shared equally in the costs of acquisition. Title to the property is held in the name
of the County Redevelopment Agency.
A Real Property Agreement between the County and the Redevelopment Agency has been prepared to
memorialize property management and property disposition terms. The Agreement provides for the County
to receive 50% of the Net Proceeds at sale.
