ACCEPT report from the Fish and Wildlife Committe on its 1996-'97 Work Summary
and 1997-'98 Work Plan.

BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The attached document, entitled: "Contra Costa County Fish and Wildlife Committee
1996-'97 Work Summary and 1997-'98 Work Plan," is submitted by the Fish and
Wildlife Committee to summarize past, present, and planned work, and to provide an
opportunity for the Board to provide any additional guidance it may have.
The current membership of the Fish and Wildlife Committee is as follows:

COMMITTEE ROLE: Advise the Board of Supervisors on fish and wildlife issues that may affect
Contra Costa County (CCC); make recommendations to the Board for the expenditure of funds
from the Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund pursuant to Fish and Game Code §13103; address
issues surrounding the enforcement of fish and game laws and regulations in CCC; and consider
other issues referred to the Committee by the Board.

(1) Organize Fish and Wildlife Committee:

from the Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund:

(5) Improve enforcement of fish and game laws and regulations; Increase flow of
money into the Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund:
OD status reports on Fish and Game Code enforcement in Contra Costa County regular presentations

OD Work with CDFG (Ed Nagel and Jim Bond) to identify the Fish and Wildlife Propagation
Fund as a reasonable depository for fine money resulting from fish and game violations

✓ Facilitate installation of a computer data base to provide DA's with standardized briefs for

in the county:
