M. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
A. On September 23, 1997, the Board of Supervisors declared an emergency and authorized the Chief
Engineer to proceed in the most expeditious manner to construct a flood wall along a section of Grayson
Creek.
B. Construction Status: The Flood Control District is currently advertising the project. We anticipate that
a contractor will be selected shortly. Construction should begin by the end of October of this year.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Non-concurrence of the above recommendations will significantly and adversely delay construction of the
flood wall.
